Easy Mining Guide

Before you do ANYTHING in this game, note the Settings (Wheel Cog) icon in the top right corner of the Screen.  This is where you can find the following:

Save
Load
Return to Title Screen

In the mine, this is very useful as it allows you to reload without saving results...

NOTE:  Do not sell more than one of each unprocessed Ore as you can receive a far greater profit by asking Brutus to refine them before you ship them.  I think you may need to ship one of each item for 100% collection purposes but once that is done, process your Ores and Gems first.  Note as well that you do need a fair quantity of UNPROCESSED Silver and Gold to upgrade your Tools:  16 of each for each tool.

In mining, I haven't found any pitfalls or any floors without a ladder, nor have I ever found the ladder beneath a rock that had to be smashed.  Reloading NEVEr changes the position of the ladder but will change the type of ore you obtain from the rocks.

I do believe that the ladder almost always is found within one square of a wall, never in the centre of the chamber.  Unfortunately, there are some floors with very narrow corridors, which means you have to search almost everywhere.

When I went lower than 51, I did find the Ladder in the centre of the floor once in awhile.

Items are FLOOR SPECIFIC.  I need to make a more detailed chart of the items found on each floor.

For example, I now have found Agate Ore on Floor 26.  Glass reappeared on Floor 26 as well after being absent for most of the lower floors.  I believe that when you find 'Stone', it could be reloaded to produce a Gem.

How to Mine:

Use your hoe to find the ladder that goes down to the next floor, remember the square and reload without saving.  Now go directly to the square and use your hoe to find the ladder.  Go down and save instantly.  Repeat the same process....

I save immediately after I permanently clear the square with the ladder, THEN use my Hammer to smash all the rocks on the floor.  If they contain too many Stones or whatever i do not want, I reload and go through the area again.  I save, then go down to the next floor using the ladder, and save again before I clear any squares...

Often I will use food items while I am discovering the position of the ladder.  Obviously they are not used permanently as I then reload, go directly to the square that has the stairs, uncover them and save.

On Floors 1 through 10, you can find Glass Material, Stone, Bronze and Silver.
On Floor 11, you first can find Gold and Mithril.
On Floor 15, first Orichalcum
On Floor 17, first Adamantite

I need to confirm if Mithril, Orichalcum and Adamantite can be found on higher levels.  I would imagine that both Orichalcum and Adamantite can be found on Floor 15 but need to mine more to confirm this.

Note that you will need 16 Silver to upgrade any of your Tools to Silver... I have not found any Silver on lower floors but again, need to mine more to see if this is chance or design.

Floor 28: Found my first Agate.  Glass reappeared as well here.  Found both Agate and Glass on Floor 29 as well.
Agate, Glass, Gold and Orichalcum on 28, 29 and 30 as well as Stones.  I believe that the Stones are the default and Agate is rare.

On Floor 31, instead of Gold, there is Adamantite again, with Orichalcum and Agate and Stone.  My first Opal here.

Opal and Agate both on Floor 33 with Orichalcum and Adamantite.  There hasn't been any Gold for a few fllors now and Mithril vanished at least 10 floors ago I believe.

Floor 35 had more of the same, Orichalcum and Agate and Opal.  Floor 36 had a different colour of rock on the ground, a lovely blue crystal formation.

Same blue cyrstals but a larger chamber on 37, one of those annoying double chambers with narrow paths between them.  More Jade and Fluorite and Gold reappears here. Adamantaite here as well

First Crystal Ore found on Level 41.  Peridot and Opal and Fluorite on this floor as well.

On Floor 46 in the Mine  found Amethyst, Topaz, Moonstone and Onyx Ores.  Had less than a quarter of a heart and no food.  You can't eat Sugar or Salt...

In all these floors, the ladder ALWAYS is within one square of a wall and is NEVER underneath a rock or crystal formation.

Only at floors lower than 51 have I found the ladder once in awhile in the centre of the floor.  Seldom though.

Upgrading your Hoe means that you can uncover multiple squares at once.  It does take more energy, however, so use it to find the ladder without saving and then reload and hit only the square you need!

Level 10: Mithril
Level 26: Agate
Level 28: Opal
Level 36: Jade and Fluorite Ores
Level 41: Peridot and Crystal Ores
Level 46: Amethyst, Topaz, ONyx and Moonstone Ores
Level 51: Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond and Pink Diamond Ores appear... you still can find Topaz, Amethyst and so on
Level 71: Soul Gem

I need to verify the Floors past 54.

An upgrated Hoe will work wonders in the mine, saving a lot of time when exploring without saving to find the ladder that goes down to the next floor.  Drag your stylus over the squares that you want the Hoe to hit.  You can go round corners or draw a straight line.  It will till a total of 6 squares at once, either 2 rows of 3 or 1 row of 6 or a combination of these.

  1. For non gem ores it's more profitable to sell them unrefined since it takes three ores to refine them
