Awakened at 6.00 today with full stamina and a healthy face because I went to bed last night at 11.57. I did the field first. 36 plots take 2 hours to water and use one full stamina heart.

In mining, I haven't found any pitfalls or any floors without a ladder, nor have I ever found the ladder beneath a rock that had to be smashed. Reloading NEVEr changes the position of the ladder but will change the type of ore you obtain from the rocks.
Why does Bread give me two full hearts at one point and only 1 1/2 later? I have been mining for awhile and this is the first time I used it and Saved... but I had one full heart and only have 2 1/2 with the bread...
Made it to Floor 46 in the Mine and found Amethyst, Topaz, Moonstone and Onyx Ores. Had less than a quarter of a heart and no food. You can't eat Sugar or Salt...

4 Spring:
I buy my first cow and name her Melody. I go to see Brutus but I do not have 16 pieces of Silver so have to return to the Mine.
Give Brutus 1000G and 16 silver and he makes a Silver Watering Can.
He tells me it is possible to water much land at once. First select ground you want water and keep finger held down. The move finger over other ground you want water. When you release finger, you will be watering all ground you selected.
A little pictorial tutorial appears. Upgraded Watering Can: Tap the green square next to you and then drag the area yiou want to water. Lift your finger to complete the action.
Brutus: But if there is obstacle in the way, you ar not being able to do. Just try yourself. If you do, you understand.

Went to see Sam to see what the profit would be. He will give me 900G for an Agate. 250G for Agate Ore. I paid 500G to have it processed. So you make a little profit.
Opal sells for 1250.

For each, a profit, so I ran back and forth from Brutus to Sam, processing gems and then selling them. A good day's work I think.
My only question now is whether it makes any difference whether I sell to Sam or ship the items. I saved one of each to ship tonight.
Bought the Recipes for Grilled Fish and Butter as I caught some fish today. Will grill them at home. Still have that Milk that was given to me... expect Butter is an ingredient for some cooked dish.

Embarking upon a New Life
As with any Harvest Moon game, the first step is to create your
Character, choosing a Name, choosing gender and then your Birthday.
The game begins on the 1st of Spring at 10.00 a.m.
You are met at the crossroads and told some pertinent facts, including 'North of here there is a mountain you can climb if you wish to see some great views. To the east, nothing.... The person leaves but you hear some one crying and need to go East in fact to meet your first Harvest Sprite who is named Rowan. This indeed proves to be the site of your new home and farm.
He tells you: 'When you want to farm, switch to 'Farm Mode'. You'll want to remember that.'
Tap the button in the lower left to switch between modes. Use Talk Mode for conversations and Farm Mode for work.
How to Move: You will move towards the blue icon. You can either tap on the scrreen or drag your finger across it.
Rowan: First you need to clear the weeds to prepare the field. When you're in Farm Mode, just tap on a square with a weed in it For now, please clear the six squares with weeds in them. Tap the icon on the lower left of the screen to change modes.
Now it's time to till. Then your field will be ready. Tap a square you want to till and you'll be able to plant stuff in it. I'll give you a hoe. Use it to till the same six squares you just cleared.
You did it! Now your field is ready! The soil looks fluffy and warm. Now you can plant seeds! Tap on tilled soil that doesn't have anything planted on it and you'll be able to plant seeds here. After sleecting the seeds you want to use, you'll equip them. When you want to equip different seeds, touch the icon in he bottom right to change them. Now plant these Potato Seeds. Please! I'm counting on you!
Blossom then appears. Blossom is a Pink Harvest Sprite. Rowan is Yellow.
Rowan: You need to use a watering can on the crops you just planted. Take this watering can. It has plenty of water, so try watering your crops. Got Watering Can with 50 Water
Incidentally, you begin with five hearts of Energy. when you finish watering, you will have lost one of them.
The Blue Harvest Sprite Dewy appears. Dewy tells you to refill the Watering Can at the Well when it is empty.
Rowan: Once your crops have ripened, you can harvest them. Just tap on a crop to harvest it.
Your Task and Goal now is to revitalise the Farm. The Sprites take you now to the Sprite Tree... it is weak and the Sprites suggest you ask the Harvest Goddess how to revive it.
Rowan: From here, we go north at the crossroads and up the Mountain. Her Spring is at that peak!
You find yourself there automatically and meet her.
Harvest Goddess: So will you help restore the memories of this place, Freyashawk? All you have to do is make a life for yourself of your own choice and make plenty of memories! As you get to know the townspeople, their memories of the farm may return...
You can view the Memories by selecting the Menu. Be sure to check it from time to time.
Essentially, each time you experience what I used to call an 'Introduction Event' with a Character, you will receive a 'Memory' and a Gift such as Seeds or Ore.
Rowan: Want to make friends with every one? Then take part in events, give gifts... stuff like that! To give a gift, all you have to do is equip the item you want to give, then talk to the person.
In the upper middle of the screen are hearts that show your Stamina. if you lose all your hearts, you'll faint. So go home and sleep when you get low on Stamina. It's not good to stay up late at night too ioften. You won't be able to wake up early the next day.
The bookshelf in your house has books you can consult if you don't understand something.
He suggests you visit the town: YOu can get to town by going west from the mountain at the crossroads.
